Download the MySAPS App

MySAPS is the official app of the South African Police Service. It's free, and it puts a few genuinely useful things in your pocket: a police station finder that uses your location, anonymous crime tip-offs, and access to SAPS services without a trip to the station.

Get it from the official stores only

This matters more than it sounds. Fake apps pretending to be SAPS or government services exist, and they're built to harvest your details. Only download MySAPS from these two listings:

• Android: MySAPS on the Google Play Store
• iPhone: MySAPS on the App Store

Before you install, check the developer name on the listing matches the official publisher. If a "MySAPS" app asks for strange permissions or payment, delete it — the real app is free.

What you can do with it

• Find police stations near you, with addresses and phone numbers.
• Submit tip-offs about crime.
• Access SAPS services and information from your phone.

Safety notes

• The app is free. Never pay anyone for "the SAPS app" or a download link.
• Keep the app updated — updates include security fixes.
• For emergencies, still call 10111 directly. An app is no substitute for a phone call when someone is in danger.

Once you've got it installed, save your nearest station's number from the station finder — future you will thank present you. Our station finder guide explains how to get the most out of it.
